Look of the Day: Scarlett Johansson

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Last night was the Hollywood premiere of Iron Man 2 where Scarlett Johansson forced all eyes on her. The actress walked the red carpet wearing a beautiful number from the ARMANI PRIVE SPRING 2010 collection. She looked like a dream. The shoes and the clutch were a perfect addition – very simple and gave just enough cohesiveness to the ensemble. (more…)

American Apparel Nails It

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

American Apparel introduced their new beauty entity not too long ago – the AMERICAN APPAREL NAIL LACQUER – and I was quite impressed with it. The collection features 18 vibrant colors like Hunter, Palm Springs and Mount Royal. (Rose Bowl and Coney Island are my favorite.) At $6 each or 3 for $15, this is all the more reason to give AA’s new product a try. AA Nail Lacquer is available online or at your nearest American Apparel store.

SSDD: Brandy vs. Heidi Klum

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

In today’s “Same Style, Different Day…” is Brandy and Heidi Klum. Mr. Louboutin has been very popular on the feet of ladies as of lately, but this week two stars chose to wear the same shoe. First, Brandy wore these CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN SPRING/SUMMER 2010
numbers at VH1 Upfront. She paired them with a cute jumper and classic black blazer. But then, Heidi wore the same pair to the LA premiere of The Back Up Plan last night with this peculiar, gorgeous strapless dress. As we all know, shoes make or break an outfit, so…

Who do you think wore it better?

Marchesa Spring 2010

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

I. Live. For. This. Dress.

For those of you who read regularly, you know I heart Marchesa. A lot of the look of the day’s are wearing it and quite frankly it’s one of most feminine lines out there. Between the embroidery, draping and silhouettes – it’s just all around awesomery. The line is only 6 years old and co-founded by designers Georgina Chapman (Harvey Weinstein’s wife) and Keren Craig. I thought I would share their Spring 2010 collection with you because…well…I heart you, too. (more…)

MATTIE MEMO: Lip Color

Lauren Conrad

As we enter spring, it’s important we embrace color. Even on our lips. It really brightens the eyes and compliments your femininity. It may not be an everyday look for some, but it’s definitely something to try (over and over again) this spring. Everyone from Beyonce to Lauren Conrad has been trying the look lately. (more…)

Winter Kate by Nicole Richie

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Before I get into the fashion part of this post, I would just like to say that Nicole Richie’s growth has been impressive. Let’s take a minute and think of the girl who was best friends with Paris Hilton. And now, this woman. Big difference. I’m glad to see she’s progressing. Good stuff.

Now, on to her new clothing line, Winter Kate. (more…)

Sweet Heart by OPI

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

This is hands down my favorite nail color. I actually wore this color on my wedding day and because it’s so light of a pink it acts as a neutral. Neutrals are great for showing off jewelry on your fingers. Think of how nude pumps elongate your legs. The same is with a neutral nail polish and your fingers. “Sweet Heart” by OPI is what I call, “rich girl pink.” If you’ve ever looked at a rich lady’s nails they’re always painted a really light pink and beautifully manicured. So, this spring I’m getting my “rich girl pink” on. Join me if you’d like.

You can find “Sweet Heart” by OPI in their Soft Shades collection online.

LOTD: Tony Ward Spring 2010

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Today’s look of the day comes from Italy. Lebanese designer Tony Ward showed his Spring 2010 collection a couple of nights ago at Rome Fashion Week and this is one of the most impressive wedding dresses I’ve ever seen. (more…)

Victoria Beckham Spring 2010

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Ok, so I may be a little late but Victoria Beckham’s line is quite impressive. Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland wore this dress (above) from the Spring 2010 collection (Jennifer Hudson wore a look as well) at this year’s Grammys. I’m loving the strong yet feminine silhouettes. What else would I expect from the British style icon? Check out more looks below. (more…)

Elie Saab Couture Spring 2010

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Consider this a duo post. Because the above look also wins look of the day. Aside from that it also comes from my favorite collection of Paris Fashion Week, Elie Saab Couture Spring 2010. The Lebanese designer debuted his couture spring efforts on the Paris runway last night. I’m sort of obsessed with it. It has red carpet – particularly the Oscars – written all over it. It’s very flowy, feminine and fantastic. The colors are incredibly soft, but still stand strong enough to make you take notice. The collection as a whole was very sweet. WWD considers it sugary – and I couldn’t have said it better myself.

More looks below. (more…)
