The other day, I came across the awesomeness that is Ginger + Liz. Their colors are bright, fun and best of all organic and vegan friendly. (more…)

American Apparel introduced their new beauty entity not too long ago – the AMERICAN APPAREL NAIL LACQUER – and I was quite impressed with it. The collection features 18 vibrant colors like Hunter, Palm Springs and Mount Royal. (Rose Bowl and Coney Island are my favorite.) At $6 each or 3 for $15, this is all the more reason to give AA’s new product a try. AA Nail Lacquer is available online or at your nearest American Apparel store.

Last year, The Hills star Lauren Conrad got folks up in a frenzy with her multi colored nails caught in a paparazzi pic. Many people liked it and even a few LOVED it but I didn’t see anybody rock it. Now, I’m not saying that because LC did, we all should but I thought it would become a great trend that many would follow. I know I did at least. I call this look “ombre nails” because the color is supposed to go from lightest to darkest starting with you thumb (or vice versa with the pinky like Lauren.) I tried this look last summer with purple and it was quite fantastic. I’m bringing it back for the spring. Just find four like colors (pink to red, gray to black, etc.) and create a gradient look. Try it out and let me know how it goes!
You’re welcome.

This is hands down my favorite nail color. I actually wore this color on my wedding day and because it’s so light of a pink it acts as a neutral. Neutrals are great for showing off jewelry on your fingers. Think of how nude pumps elongate your legs. The same is with a neutral nail polish and your fingers. “Sweet Heart” by OPI is what I call, “rich girl pink.” If you’ve ever looked at a rich lady’s nails they’re always painted a really light pink and beautifully manicured. So, this spring I’m getting my “rich girl pink” on. Join me if you’d like.
You can find “Sweet Heart” by OPI in their Soft Shades collection online.

Now, whether you’re bold enough to rock out a bright, stand out shade like Rihanna or you choose to keep it conservative with a darker shade like hunter – green is the go to color for your nails this winter season.
