Giorgio Armani Prive Couture Fall 2010

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Easily my favorite collection from Paris this week, Giorgio Armani Prive Couture Fall 2010 collection is strong, feminine and classic with a modern take on Old Hollywood. I loved the hair is the face with the side part. (I think it’s a classic hairstyle on any woman that will never get old.) And the neutral color palette did wonders for the strong silhouettes. I love the jackets. Some of the strongest pieces in the collection were jackets. But of course, the gowns from the collection were wonderful and grand. From satin to sequins and jewels, these dresses were to die for. Check out more of the looks from the show. (more…)

So, as we enjoy the latest shoes and apparel of this season, I can’t help but wonder what kind of treats we’ll get next season. This year it’s caged shoes, wedges, sandal booties and glittery pumps. Eva Mendes in DOLCE & GABBANA: Abso-freakin-lutely.

One of fashion’s biggest events was last night: The Metropolitan Museum Of Art’s Costume Institute Ball. This year’s theme was “American Woman: Fashioning A National Identity.” (The exhibit will be at the Met until August 15.) Fashion designers Michael Kors, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren all made an appearance with at least one person wearing one of their designs. Celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Eva Mendes, Coco Rocha, Mary J. Blige, Kate Hudson and Jessica Biel all came out dressed to the nines! Below are some of my favorite looks (and not so favorite). Without further ado ——> (more…)

Tom Ford To Design Womenswear

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Ok, fashion heads. I’m sure you’ve all heard the news. Tom Ford will be designing a womenswear collection and is looking to premiere it sometime next year. This will be the first time that Ford has designed womenswear since his Creative Director role at Gucci. (Ford was Creative Director of Gucci and YSL before launching his personal brand.) There’s been much speculation that he’s already appointed designers for his women’s team and that it should premiere as soon as Fall 2011. Either way, I can’t wait.
