So, I’ve been shutting the brow pencil game down if I do say so myself. And now I’ve managed to get my hands on something that I’m sure will take my brows and beauty regimen to the next level: Clinique’s NEW Instant Lift for Brows.

What I like about this is that instead of a pencil, the Instant Lift is more similar to a crayon. It’s softer and you don’t have to press hard which means you get more use out of your product and more bang for your buck. The other side of the “crayon” is a highlighter to enhance the shade of your brow just a notch. It’s like taking your brows to the next level. For us Clinique ride-or-die’ers, the highlighter side of Instant Lift is very similar to (if not the same thing) the Touch Tint for Eyes they once had. If I’m not mistaken, they no longer have it

Oh, call me biased but you know Sarah Jessica Parker can do no wrong in my eyes! (Was I the only one who enjoyed her Oscar look this year? It was Chanel…) I do like this look. I feel like everyone is still hiding in black in NYC while she busted out the white blazer and lace dress. I love the hair down and beaucoup necklaces. It works for me.

The bag? Eh. But I’m not going to hold it against her.

The other day it was 70 degrees. It was the first time of this year that I truly realized spring couldn’t come soon enough.

Spring just makes you feel better. You start to wear lighter clothes – in color and weight – and the weather seems to be easier and breezier. People are friendlier. Outside is brighter. The grass is greener. And quite frankly, there’s more sunlight throughout the day. It just seems as if days are a little bit longer, but in a good way. By the end of it, school will be out. Pools will be open and that frigid memory of February is close to non existent. But the reality of a scorching July is just a couple months away. My birthday is in the spring but even if it wasn’t, I would still love it. Because it’s that perfect medium between February and July. The end of everything hard and the beginning of everything go-with-the-flow.

What’s your favorite thing about spring?

Last year, The Hills star Lauren Conrad got folks up in a frenzy with her multi colored nails caught in a paparazzi pic. Many people liked it and even a few LOVED it but I didn’t see anybody rock it. Now, I’m not saying that because LC did, we all should but I thought it would become a great trend that many would follow. I know I did at least. I call this look “ombre nails” because the color is supposed to go from lightest to darkest starting with you thumb (or vice versa with the pinky like Lauren.) I tried this look last summer with purple and it was quite fantastic. I’m bringing it back for the spring. Just find four like colors (pink to red, gray to black, etc.) and create a gradient look. Try it out and let me know how it goes!

Kate Bosworth blew me away with this look at the Montblanc Charity event the Weinstein Company held during Oscar weekend for UNICEF. The actress wore a kaleidoscope of a Peter Pilotto dress with some fantastic satin nude pumps. Here’s why this works: it’s daring and unexpected while still effortless. The silhouette isn’t typical but when all is said and done it still has the appeal of a classic sheath dress. And let’s face it – color always gets our attention. And that’s exactly what Kate did.

Actress Amy Smart brought spring with her to an Oscar event last night when she donned a floral print strapless dress. With her hair pulled back, a rouge mouth and some gray peep toe pumps this look was really smart.
