Finding a mentor, someone who you admire and respect to hold you accountable professionally, is one step to becoming better. Above, is my dream mentor, Michelle Obama. (more…)

Along side with Denzel Washington and Gary Oldham, Mila Kunis (above) starred in Book of Eli, one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. It was excellent. It’s about the world after a somewhat apocalypse and a man who’s been trying to reach a destination since. He’s spiritual and resilient and some people want what he has. So they try to take it from him. Little do they know that they can’t take it from him. That’s all I’ll say.
I left inspired and Denzel blows me away as an actor. I just can’t handle it.
If you haven’t seen it, please go see this movie. Worth the $10. Trust me.

On Saturday (February 20), I held my first workshop at Georgia State University: the BE BETTER Workshop. It was great. The hubby designed the title slide above for my power point presentation – which was FANTASTIC! There were about 15 ladies who came out and hopefully were changed for the “better.” (more…)

It happens to all of us. We go through that relationship that consumes us to the max. No matter how many times you tell yourself you won’t, you always fall back for that one person.
When it comes to that one ex, how is it that we always go through a revolving door? (more…)

Ok, so my trip to NYC was amazing. Had a great time. Did some awesome networking and quite frankly, I will be at every single New York Fashion Week for the rest of my life. (more…)

The thing is with first dates is that there is a lot of pressure to make a strong and good first impression. We all know that first impressions are lasting ones and so we want people to remember us well. I came up with an acronym for the word F.I.R.S.T. to explain the do’s and don’ts of first date behavior. It’s good stuff. (more…)

As I was going through my pictures, I came across some Christmas pictures, I never shared because, well…I was trying to get the new Mattieologie up and running for YOU! But these were too cute to not share. Above is the love of my life, my niece, Deanna. At that very moment, she was saying “Cheese!” PRICELESS. (more…)

When I was in NYC – where you can eat every kind of food POSSIBLE, a friend had an issue with picking a meal at a Thai restaurant. She confessed that she didn’t really enjoy her meal and that she really isn’t good at picking her meals whenever she goes to new restaurants. With many of us going out this month for Valentine’s Day, here are some tips if you have the same problem my friend had. (more…)
