Backstage at the Christian Siriano Fall 2010 runway show.

So after watching the new season of Project Runway last night, I thought about one of my favorite designers the show produced: Christian Siriano. His latest collection is absolutely stunning with great jackets, colorful cocktail dresses and his evening gowns are AMAZING per usual. So excited to see his Spring 2011 collection come September at NYFW. Take a look at my favorite looks.

I know I have been going on and on AND ON about Jada Pinkett Smith here on the fashion section of Mattieologie, but how can I not? Look at this woman. Here, she wows us again in not just her awesome one shoulder white dress, but also in her AMAZING gray peep toe booties. I’m also loving this asymmetrical bob with the blunt bang on her. (The braids she had at the BET Awards weren’t my favorite.) Not sure, who’s she’s wearing but as far as I’m concerned she easily wins look of the day…again.

Look of the Day: Jada Pinkett Smith

Jada Pinkett Smith hit the red carpet last week looking fabulous in a STELLA McCARTNEY sequin mini dress and some cute suede ankle strap heels. The star has really been making a statement on the red carpet for the last few months. First her shoes on Oprah, then her look at the Tony Awards, her red carpet look for the LA premiere of ‘The Karate Kid’ and now this. And even though she didn’t wear much on her recent Essence cover, she looked great on there as well. Viva la Jada! Check out her clutch and shoes under the cut.

Lala Vazquez & Carmelo Anthony Get Married

TV personality Lala Vazquez and NBA star Carmelo Anthony tied the knot this past weekend at the Cipriani in NYC. Lala wore a stunning Vera Wang wedding gown paired with a beautiful bouquet of red roses. Very classic. Carmelo wasn’t looking too bad himself. Some of Lala’s closest friends and celebrities – Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Serena Williams and Kim Kardashian – all attended highly anticipated event. Not too many details on the wedding but I’m sure we’ll soon find out on Lala’s 5 part VH1 wedding special come September 19. (Which happens to be my wedding anniversary!) I’ll definitely be tuning in. Check out what guests wore on their way in!

Mattie Memo: Olivia Palermo at Elie Saab

Everybody’s favorite person we-love-to-hate on MTV’s The City, Olivia Palermo, hit the Elie Saab show at Paris Couture Fashion Week. The star wore a purple sheer leopard print tunic dress, with a leopard belt and some fantastic T-strap peep toe shoes. I love the whole look. Of course, she didn’t stray away from her usual Olivia aesthetic – hair pulled back and polished makeup. But I do appreciate the sequin clutch and crimson nails. The red really popped against the purple. Regardless of her character on the show, the girl is great dresser. Check out the rest of her look.

These shoes are fabulous. And yes, she does smile.

A great look. The clutch added some pizazz to the ensemble. I approve.

Look of the Day: Leighton Meester

Aside from filming Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester has been out and about at Paris Fashion Week hitting up all the major shows. At the Chanel show, she arrived in a CHANEL leather dress and a stunning statement necklace. The booties were a perfect touch to the ensemble. Her make up was flawless as well. I may be the only human being that doesn’t watch Gossip Girl but I may just start this season since they are filming in Paris. That’s a good enough reason, right?

Giorgio Armani Prive Couture Fall 2010

Easily my favorite collection from Paris this week, Giorgio Armani Prive Couture Fall 2010 collection is strong, feminine and classic with a modern take on Old Hollywood. I loved the hair is the face with the side part. (I think it’s a classic hairstyle on any woman that will never get old.) And the neutral color palette did wonders for the strong silhouettes. I love the jackets. Some of the strongest pieces in the collection were jackets. But of course, the gowns from the collection were wonderful and grand. From satin to sequins and jewels, these dresses were to die for. Check out more of the looks from the show.

Kim Kardashian to Design Jewelry

Known to capitalize on her fame, KIM KARDASHIAN is moving forward with her brand by designing jewelry. The socialite with be designing two collections – one for Bebe and a signature line. Her collaborative efforts with Bebe will be available during the holiday season averaging at about $100. Her signature line – which will be available Spring 2011 – will stay around the same price point but overall stay between $50-$250.

The pieces for both collections will be made of Lucite, Moroccan-inspired and gunmetal pieces. Everything from hand jewelry to hand pieces will be included. The star tells WWD:

“I love statement pieces because they make a simple outfit stylish and fun,” said Kardashian, who described the first two styles as “younger and more edgy” and the Moroccan style as “dressier and perfect for the holidays.”

I’m sure she’ll do well. Stay tuned for Kim’s jewelry line with Bebe available Holiday 2010 and her signature jewelry line come Spring 2011 at major department stores.
