Look of the Day: Sarah Jessica Parker

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Oh, call me biased but you know Sarah Jessica Parker can do no wrong in my eyes! (Was I the only one who enjoyed her Oscar look this year? It was Chanel…) I do like this look. I feel like everyone is still hiding in black in NYC while she busted out the white blazer and lace dress. I love the hair down and beaucoup necklaces. It works for me.

The bag? Eh. But I’m not going to hold it against her.

Carrie on.

Look of the Day: Kate Bosworth

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Kate Bosworth blew me away with this look at the Montblanc Charity event the Weinstein Company held during Oscar weekend for UNICEF. The actress wore a kaleidoscope of a Peter Pilotto dress with some fantastic satin nude pumps. Here’s why this works: it’s daring and unexpected while still effortless. The silhouette isn’t typical but when all is said and done it still has the appeal of a classic sheath dress. And let’s face it – color always gets our attention. And that’s exactly what Kate did.

Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Party

Monday, March 8th, 2010

The who’s who in Hollywood came out to Elton John’s Oscar fete that he holds every year with his AIDS foundation. Everyone from the likes of Jamie Foxx, Salma Hayek and Rachel Zoe came out to mingle. ABOVE: Salma Hayek in Alexander McQueen. (more…)

2010 Academy Awards

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Zoe Saldana in Givenchy couture: I love this color. I want to love this dress but it’s hard to. Something is a little off about it. Maybe if the front closed or flowed a bit better I could love it, but until then – no. I appreciate the hair and her skin looks radiant. (more…)

Look of the Day: Amy Smart

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Actress Amy Smart brought spring with her to an Oscar event last night when she donned a floral print strapless dress. With her hair pulled back, a rouge mouth and some gray peep toe pumps this look was really smart.

Sorry. I couldn’t help the obviously cheesy pun.

2010 NAACP Image Awards

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

The 2010 NAACP Image Awards were on Friday night in Los Angeles. Singer Keri Hilson, who won for best new artist, was hands down best dressed. This black Rami Kashou (who I loved on Project Runway) dress with the huge rosette is perfect. There are just no words for this dress. This has look of the day potential had there been different shoes (open toe, perhaps?) and an old Hollywood take on the hair. Nonetheless, she looks beautiful. (more…)

Look of the Day: Camilla Belle

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Actress Camilla Belle hosted an Oscar event sponsored by Audi and Marchesa (who she was wearing) earlier this week. I absolutely live for this dress. Feathers can go either really good or really bad and here there are done BEAUTIFULLY. And obviously the memo that “white is the new black” is still going around. Very impressive.

Rip the Runway 2010

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Everyone’s new favorite female rapper, Nicki Minaj, hosted BET’s Rip the Runway this past weekend along side Pooch Hall in NYC. I’ve had my opinions on Nicki lyrically in the past, but fashion wise she looked great during the show. Her shoe game was quite impressive. That bright pink dress…AMAZING. (more…)

Z Spoke by Zac Posen

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Last night, designer Zac Posen celebrated the launch of his new line Z Spoke with a dinner sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills. The who’s who came out like John Legend and his model girlfriend Christine Teigen. Rachel Bilson, Amber Valletta, Emma Roberts, Eva Amurri, Nicky Hilton and Olivia Munn all came out to support the designer wearing pieces from the new line. (more…)

Lady Gaga (above in Prada) will be dressed by Armani and Prada for the rest of her 2010 tour. According to WWD:

Lady Gaga has tapped two fashion houses — Armani and Prada — to help outfit her for the overseas leg of her Monster Ball tour, which began last week in Manchester. (more…)
