I joked around with my assistant the other day and said “this is the first fashion week where I’m semi important.” Being semi important is draining. And loads of fun. The Big Apple has a way of kicking your ass like no other, so being there for 7 days was unforgettable, amazing, tiring and intense. But with good people and good clothes (Rent the Runway dressed me throughout the week) you always have a good time.
I hosted another SBOC mixer at Pranna where some of my favorite bloggers like Kela and Taliah came out. The lovely folks of 1800 Tequila gave us drinks and some goodies which is always fine by me. I also had a blast with my co-host, Ria, who is always good fun. A huge thanks to everyone who came!
This time of year is certainly great for bloggers. Lucky FABB was great this year with speakers Rachel Zoe, Lauren Conrad and Anna Sui (who was interviewed by Simon Doonan). We got a slew of things – a ridiculously awesome gift bag (that I lost) but the information was priceless. There were also tons of blogger lounges (like the ones at Duane Street Hotel & Empire hotel hosted by Allure magazine) that gave you free wi-fi, goodies and refreshments. They were totally the safe havens of NYFW.
Of course you can imagine that there were tons blogger parties – but my favorite has Cocktails & Couture hosted by Lianne of The Makeup Girl and this year was co-hosted by Afrobella! (Who I met for the first time!
As far as shows and presentations were concerned, I got to attend Honor, Primary, Lela Rose, Candela, Harlem’s Fashion Row, Reem Acra and I feel like I’m forgetting one or two. Don’t worry. I’m doing individual post reviews on each show I attended but wanted to sum up my trip.
I had an amazing time and can’t wait for February!
