It’s that time of year: spring. When I love to wear head scarves. Mainly because they’re perfect for those “I don’t feel like doing my hair” days. Below I show you 7 easy, breezy ways to rock a head scarf. Don’t fret. You can always rewind to see how I got the look. After the video is a brief “how to” on each look.

TIE KNOT TURBAN
This look is one of my faves. Kinda has a June Ambrose spin on it. Take a medium/long scarf wrapping it behind your head first then tying it making sure the top end is under the knot. Tie knots until you have no more fabric and tuck behind.

HOOK KNOT HEADBAND
This is an easy fix for “undone” hair worn down. Wrap medium/long scarf from behind then “hook” (cross then twist) in front. Tie the scarf in the back and that’s it.

BIG KNOT HEADBAND
Fold and scrunch width of medium/long scarf to thin it out. Wrap head scarf around head from behind then two part twist to the front or side. When done twisting, wrap twisted scarf into a knot.

BIG KNOT TURBAN
Open up a long and wide scarf and wrap your head from behind bringing the top to the top of your head. Be sure to keep it as tight as you can without tying a knot. Twist scarf all the way down. Once all twisted, wrap scarf into a big knot tucking in all excess fabric.

HOOK KNOT TURBAN
Take a medium/long head scarf and wrap head from behind. Twist front into a hook knot tucking in the top of the fabric over your head underneathe the hook knot. Bring both ends of fabric all the way around and then tuck in on their respective sides.

RETRO HEADBAND
Take medium size square scarf and fold into triangle. Take the point of triangle and fold down twice to a reasonable width. Wrap scarf from behind (folded part against your head) then tie at the top of your head into a knot. Tuck loose pieces on their respective sides. Works whether hair is up or down.

BOW TO THE SIDE HEADBAND
Wrap medium length scarf from behind and bring ends to the side (right or left…whatever you like). Make a “bunny ears” bow for a more floppy looking bow. Play with it and make it as big as you like. And that’s it.
Play around with any – or all – of these looks this spring. Head scarves make a great accessory! Try them in prints or vibrant hues. If you don’t get it right away, try again. Or put your own twist on it. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s style.

Thanks for a great guide! Love the tie knot turban:D

This is very cool. I will be trying to BOW TO THE SIDE HEADBAND, RETRO HEADBAND, and HOOK KNOT HEADBAND this spring. Thanks for the tips! I’d love to repost.
