With spring fast approaching – actually if you look hard enough, you’ll see it’s right around the corner – the time has come to do some spring editing on our wardrobe. It’s time to trade in our dim and played out jeans for new colorful versions. While the colored denim trend has been around for the last couple of seasons, new colors like pastels, Kelly green and yellow are making their mark. Color has always made a bold statement, but this season it’s bringing out a new hue!
Anyone can pull off this trend. And remember there’s a difference between being on trend and being trendy. You don’t have to be a carbon copy of what you see on the big blogs and magazines. It’s all about what you want to convey about yourself via your personal style.
Into adventurous declaration? Bright colors like reds & neons are definitely the move for you.
If you are going for a more subtle take on the look, opt for softer colors like pastels – think lavender, yellow and baby blue.
And accessorizing this new look is super simple.
To make it casually chic, tuck in a denim button-up and pair with some pretty flats or cool sneakers (cue Isabel Marant!). For you bolder ladies, those fantastically detailed combat boots with your bright hued denim will command attention.
Colored denim also looks really amazing with patterned tops and statement accessories. Get into necklaces and/or bracelets that are bold in color as well that’ll contrast beautifully with the rest of your ensemble.
Should you choose to wear your bright jeans to work, tone them down with classic pumps and a well fitting blazer. And when it’s time to take them from day to night, lose the blazer and bust out those headturning heels – the higher, the better (if you ask me).
This spring is all about lively style and going for the bold. Leave dressing safely behind you and dress colorfully!
