Rule No. 378: Dressing Like A Lady Doesn’t Make You One
Thought I’d share a little secret. Dressing yourself up in pretty frocks and a string of pearls doesn’t make you a lady. It’s all in the way you carry yourself and present yourself to the world. I could put you in a $20,000 Oscar de la Renta gown and if you’re cursing like a sailor and being inappropriate even Oscar couldn’t save you. Presence is everything. Your behavior, character and mannerisms are a constant reminder of who you are. Practice grace. We’re not all born with it. But know that just because you have a dress on doesn’t automatically put you in the “lady” category. I could give you Holly above in that lovely yellow dress or Jackie O. in some denim, a t-shirt and a scarf.
Who would you rather spend you time with?
Food for thought…
