Happy MLK Day everyone!! Today let’s celebrate this great leader and the legacy he left behind by rising to the occasion. In the wake of what has happened in Haiti, it is easy for us to turn our back and say that has nothing to do with me. However, they say “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” This is what Dr. King did. Although he wasn’t able to reap the benefits that his legacy has created for us, he did it for the greater good. If it wasn’t for him, we may have not been able to call Barack Obama our president today. Let’s come together and celebrate this day by giving to Haiti – a nation who could use our help in more ways than one.

Volunteer. Lend a hand. Be respectful. Speak up and stand up for those who need the help. Even if you don’t HAVE to. This is the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
